Our Hand-Planes
Each Hand-Plane is developed after extensive research and testing of different prototypes in the waters around Guernsey and in discussions with a wide range of local board riders and body surfers. The information gathered has been refined through the use of 3D CAD and templates and shapes have been produced using laser cutting and 3D printing techniques.
A hand made former is used to press the laminated blanks into the optimum concave shape before the overall outline and rails are hand crafted using traditional tools and skills. This combination of modern processes and traditional craftsmanship produces Hand-Planes of exceptional quality and finish. Produced from sustainable cedar and protected by natural Tung Oil they are built to last and are a pleasure to own. Please note that Tung Oil is derived from nuts if there is likely to be an allergic reaction please let us know and we can finished a hand-plane in natural Linseed Oil instead.
